What to Expect at Your Extractions Visit

Before the extraction

First, we’ll have a friendly chat about your medical history and any concerns you might have. It’s important to let us know about any medications or health conditions. This helps us personalise your care and ensure everything goes smoothly.

The extraction

Extractions are usually done with local anaesthesia, which numbs the area around the tooth. You might feel some pressure during the procedure, but you shouldn’t feel any pain. We use gentle techniques to loosen the tooth and carefully remove it. Sometimes, if the tooth is impacted, a small incision in the gum may be needed .

Aftercare

After your tooth is removed, proper care is essential for healing. You might have some swelling and discomfort, but this can be managed with prescribed painkillers and ice packs. Avoid strenuous activities, smoking, and drinking through a straw for at least 24 hours to prevent complications like dry socket. We’ll give you detailed aftercare instructions and are always here if you have any questions during your recovery
